My last post was on the completion of one month of composting. Well, its been quite some time now and I happily declare that the first cycle of compost is ready.
I sieved it last Sunday and now it is nourishing some potted plants.
Looking back, it was not that much of an effort, just requires a little bit of patience.
I recommend those interested to use this simple and effective method of pot-composting. Ofcourse, there are other options, but this one is tried and tested and yields results.

Thank you Rozita for hosting this blog and encouraging people to compost !
ReplyDeleteI have worked a bit on waste management - and was interesting to see someone else being passionate about composting . (as there are so few people taking segregation and composting seriously)
After reading this post, I have some questions for you on your methods of composting:
- Where do you procure Lemon grass spray and Neem cake from ?
Also how much does it cost per unit / tube/ bottle ?
I have been practicing composting - while dealing with the smell and maggots - definitely covering with leaves/earth and lid works but that also cuts the aeration.
I definitely want to try these herbs/additives.
Also, a tip :
- Try adding alcohol - get any cheap alcohol - in the beginning - which is the most critical time for initiating the breakdown - higher PH value will multiply the microbial activity exponentially -
Another question:
Have you ever tried preparing EM/cultures at home?
I could share a few tips on them if you are willing to test !
Thanks for the lovely blog !
Good luck with the demos,
